What Is 1200 Aluminum Foil?
1200 aluminum foil belongs to the 1xxx series of commercially pure aluminum. The alloy is commonly identified as AA 1200, while EN AW-1200 is associated with the Al99.0 designation in the European material system.
Alloy 1200 is non-heat-treatable. Its strength is adjusted mainly through cold working, while annealing restores softness and ductility. The finished foil’s mechanical properties depend on its temper and thickness—not simply its alloy number.
