1050 H22 Aluminum
1050 H22 aluminum alloy is a high-purity aluminum alloy with an aluminum content of 99.5%, and it belongs to the 1050 series of aluminum alloys. The "1050" indicates that its main component is aluminum, while "H22" refers to its temper. This aluminum alloy has excellent formability, outstanding weldability, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and manufacturing applications.
1050 aluminum alloy is a very pure aluminum alloy with 99.5% aluminum content, offering excellent formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance.
1050-H22 aluminum refers to the 1050 aluminum in the H22 temper. To achieve this state, the metal undergoes strain hardening followed by partial annealing. Its strength is approximately one-quarter of the strength between the annealed (O) and full-hard (H28) states.
1050 H22 Aluminum Alloy:
- Temper: Lightly cold-worked and partially annealed.
- Features: Combines moderate strength with good formability, suitable for applications requiring both strength and ductility.
1050 H22 Aluminum Alloy State and Processing
- Light cold-worked hardening: This process increases the hardness and strength of the aluminum alloy through moderate mechanical deformation (such as stretching or pressing), usually without causing a loss in plasticity. Cold working hardening provides the aluminum alloy with relatively high mechanical strength.
- Partial annealing: Annealing is a heat treatment process designed to reduce stress induced by cold working and restore some ductility. In the H22 state, the degree of annealing is light, retaining some of the strain-hardened properties.
Features of 1050 H22 Aluminum Alloy
- Good formability: Due to its high purity, 1050 H22 aluminum alloy has excellent formability. This allows it to maintain high plasticity during cold processing, making it easy to shape through processes such as stamping, stretching, and extrusion.
- Moderate strength: Compared to pure aluminum in the annealed (O) state, 1050 H22 aluminum alloy has slightly higher strength, but lower strength than the full-hard (H28) state. This moderate strength is suitable for applications that require a certain level of strength while maintaining good ductility.
- Excellent corrosion resistance: The corrosion resistance of the 1050 series aluminum alloys is outstanding, making them ideal for environments where corrosion resistance is critical, such as chemical processing equipment, food and beverage industries, etc.
- Good weldability: 1050 H22 aluminum alloy has excellent welding performance due to its high purity, making it suitable for welding processes.
