3105 Aluminum Strip

3105 aluminum strip is a commonly used material in the construction and manufacturing industries, mainly favored for its excellent corrosion resistance and formability. It is essentially an aluminum alloy with a purity of 98%, with small additions of manganese and magnesium, giving it higher strength than the 1100 and 3003 series aluminum alloys.

3105 aluminum strip is made from 3105 alloy and belongs to the 3000 series aluminum alloys. It is usually pre-painted and ready for direct use. It is non-heat-treatable, has relatively poor machining performance, but offers excellent weldability.

3105 aluminum strip

Thanks to its outstanding cost-performance ratio, 3105 aluminum strip is widely used in packaging, construction, home appliances, and other fields. It is an ideal material that combines lightweight properties, rust resistance, and ease of processing. When selecting 3105 aluminum strip, the appropriate temper (such as H14/H24) and specifications should be chosen according to the specific application to meet requirements for strength, ductility, and processing performance.

3105 Aluminum Strip Available Finishes

3105 Pre-painted Aluminum Strip

PE or PVDF coatings are pre-applied to the surface of 3105 aluminum strip, offering rich color options (such as white and orange) and excellent decorative weather resistance. The material can be directly stamped and formed.

3105 Mill Finish Aluminum Strip

Retains the original metallic surface after rolling of the 3105 aluminum alloy, without any artificial coating. It is commonly used as a base material for bottle caps, stamped parts, or further coating and deep processing.

3105 Stucco Embossed Aluminum Strip

Uniform orange peel or diamond patterns are formed on the surface of the 3105 aluminum strip through mechanical embossing. This not only enhances structural strength but also effectively reduces light reflection and conceals scratches.

3105 Anodized Aluminum Strip

A dense and transparent oxide film is formed on the surface of the 3105 aluminum strip through an electrochemical process, significantly improving surface hardness, corrosion resistance, and metallic appearance.

3105 Pre-painted Aluminum Strip

It is usually produced in factories through a continuous roller coating process. The coating is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides an additional protective layer.

Coating types:

3105 Mill Finish Aluminum Strip

3105 Stucco Embossed Aluminum Strip

3105 Anodized Aluminum Strip

Although 3105 is a manganese-based alloy (3000 series) and its anodizing effect is not as good as that of the 5000 series, it can still undergo basic anodizing to enhance corrosion resistance.

Common Applications of 3105 Aluminum Strip

Application Field Typical Temper Thickness Range (mm) Surface Treatment
Wine / Pharmaceutical Bottle Caps H14, H16 0.20 - 0.25 Color coating + protective lacquer + food-grade lubricant
Venetian Blinds H19, H48 0.15 - 0.21 Precisely color-matched PE roller coating

3105 H14 H16 Aluminum Closure Strip

This type of application requires an excellent balance between ductility and strength to ensure that the caps do not crack after stamping and achieve a tight seal.

Common tempers: H14, H16 (half-hard). H14 provides good stamping performance, while H16 offers higher strength and is suitable for pressure-resistant caps for carbonated beverages.

3105 H19 H48 Aluminum Strip for Venetian Blind

Venetian blind slats require extremely high elasticity and ultra-thin gauges.

Common tempers: H19 or H48 (extra hard). Through heavy cold rolling deformation, the material gains spring-like resilience, allowing it to quickly recover after bending under stress.

Typical specifications:

Surface treatment:

Color coating: the surface is coated with high-durability polyester paint, usually requiring highly consistent color and strong UV fade resistance.

3105 H24 H26 Aluminum Strip for Rain Gutter

This type of application is mainly processed by continuous roll-forming machines on-site or in factories, requiring excellent corrosion resistance and ease of bending.

Common tempers: H24, H26 (partially annealed after coating). This ensures that the aluminum strip can be bent at 90° or 180° without coating delamination or base metal cracking.

Typical specifications:

Surface treatment:

PVDF coating: for high-end architectural applications, providing more than 20 years of weather resistance. PE coating: standard for general residential use, offering a wide range of colors (such as white, brown, and gray). Embossed: diamond or orange peel patterns may be applied to enhance structural strength and conceal minor scratches.

3105 Transformer Aluminum Strip

In certain industrial transformers, 3105 is used to replace pure aluminum strips (1050 / 1060), providing better creep resistance.

Common temper: O temper (fully annealed). Only the fully soft condition can ensure excellent electrical conductivity and allow tight winding.

Typical specifications:

Advantages of 3105 Aluminum Strip

Comparison of 3105 Aluminum Strip with Similar Alloys

Alloy Main Advantages Typical Applications
3105 Higher strength, good electrical conductivity, moderate cost General-purpose applications, packaging, construction, home appliances
3003 Better ductility, slightly lower cost General forming processes, signage
1100 Higher purity (99%), best electrical conductivity, lower price Electrical materials, decorative applications
5052 Higher strength, better corrosion resistance, higher cost High-strength structural components, marine applications

3105 Aluminum Strip vs. 3003

Although both belong to the 3000 series alloys, 3105 is generally more suitable for exterior architectural products. Compared with 3003, its magnesium content provides slightly higher strength and better corrosion resistance in salty or humid air. However, 3003 typically offers better elongation, making it more suitable for deep drawing applications such as cookware manufacturing.
